Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Or like you’re just about getting through life without taking time to deepen what’s going on? Or do you feel the need to improve yourself, look after your mental health, and grow as a person?

These are all valid points and many people go through them; what helps when you have these thoughts is journaling.

Being intentional about writing a journal can have incredible benefits for your mental health and it will help to improve you as an individual.

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing a few journal prompts for your self growth journey, to help you become the best version of yourself.

What do you write in a self growth journal?

I shared in a previous blog post about some of my favourite journaling apps, and they’re a great option if you want to have a digital journal or if you just want to get started in this journey.

When it comes to knowing what to write in a self growth journal, there’s really no right or wrong way to do it, as it’s very personal to each individual.

Your journaling practice will also evolve as you evolve, so you should be open to that and welcome changes with open arms.

That being said, here are a few things you can write in a self growth journal:

  • life updates, to remember in the future the things that are happening right now
  • Your personal growth plan, to track your progress and your goals
  • Letter style journals, as if you were writing to a friend
  • Journal prompts, for when you need a little input to start your writing

I’m now going to share with you 50 journaling prompts that you can use for your self growth and to look after your mental health.
